Biography
Ever since childhood, Peter admired Eddie Cochran for his distinctive voice and unique guitar-picking style. Peter was in his musical development influenced by the music of Eddie and he sought a similar sound as his idol.
His steady play at family get-togethers of Cochran and his raspy voice brought him to his family and friends the nickname 'Eddie' on. Furthermore, he has more similarities: it is the same, has the same build, same hair, same voice, hoarse and even the same constellation. At age 25 his dream came true, singing as Eddie Cochran in a rock 'n' roll show, which toured the Netherlands in April 2010. From May 2010 till Christmas 2011 Peter sang in "Rock 'n' Roll Paradise.
Peter is now a 27 year old singer & musician / actor from London England, who is proficient in vocals, guitar, bass, drums and keys. He has been playing and performing ever since receiving his first guitar at the age of 6. His first major influences were the likes of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, The Beatles and many other rock ’n’ roll icons. Two of the most significant of these were the late, great Eddie Cochran and the legendary Johnny Cash.
Peter’s musical career started during his school years through performing in various bands, singing and playing guitar in a range of musical styles in pubs & clubs, eventually progressing to perform in theatre, radio & television.
Peter’s first major breakthrough in music was in 2006 as front man and songwriter for his originals band, The Delaners. They were fortunate enough to secure a record contract, release a single and were offered an album deal. They received rave reviews and built up a strong cult following, touring the UK & Europe, performing to audiences of thousands in arenas and at festivals. However, in 2008 Peter left the band to pursue his first love; rock ’n’ roll music.
In the same year he joined the Elvis tribute show “Taking Care of Vegas”, playing the part of backing vocalist and acoustic guitarist, Charlie Hodge. This is when Peter realised his heart lay in acting as well as music, and later that year he starred as his hero, Eddie Cochran, in the “The Buddy Holly Experience” alongside performers from the West End’s very own “Buddy”. Peter’s performance of Eddie was so well-received that he was subsequently asked to play as Cochran for various other shows and events.
Following this success, Peter spent time honing his Cochran performance, paying great attention to detail to perfect Eddie’s guitar-picking technique and developing his naturally gravelly voice to mimic Cochran’s classic rock ’n ’roll style. Peter has toured the UK and Europe extensively as Eddie Cochran, including numerous TV & radio appearances, with both Rockin’ On Heaven’s Door and Rock ’n’ Roll Paradise theatre shows.
Peter then turned his attention to another of his heroes, Johnny Cash. Developing Cash’s signature deep, smokey tones and dark, outlaw swagger, Peter relishes the opportunity to combine his love of rock ’n’ roll with his passion for character acting, portraying the charisma of the enigmatic Man In Black. Peter is currently touring as Johnny Cash with Barry Steele’s Roy Orbison & Friends theatre show to great acclaim.
Peter’s performance has attracted attention from around the world. In high demand across Europe and North America, Peter joined The Ed Sullivan Caravan of Stars for their 2012 tour of Canada, starring as both Johnny and Eddie, alongside well-known artists from the Vegas Strip and Broadway‘s Million Dollar Quartet.
In 2013 his dream came true. Playing in the hit musical Let it Be as Paul McCartney.
